Clinical Myotherapy provides physical therapy for soft tissue pain, restricted movement and tension. The word 'myo' reflects that the therapist aims to work with the body's myofascia. This is the body's network of fibrous and soft tissue connections that influence structure, stability and alignment. By working with myofascia, the therapist aims to restore function, facilitate healing and support the body's well-being.

In a myotherapy session the therapist will take a detailed health history and assess the areas relevant to your complaint. Physical treatment techniques may involve a combination of soft-tissue massage, Bowen therapy, myofascial release techniques, cupping and other hands-on techniques that aim to facilitate neuro-muscular health.

As part of the session, your therapist might give you some helpful tips to support your treatment after you leave the clinic and may recommend some home exercises that help speed up your recovery and help your body stay aligned and balanced.

What about Myotherapy?

Do I need Bowen therapy, massage or myotherapy?

Muscular health plays a big part in how we feel in our bodies and has a great impact on our general well-being.

Whether you had an acute injury, feel pain or discomfort because you strained or stressed the body or you suffer from a complaint that has been affecting you long-term. Every muscle therapy session is tailored to your individual needs and what will make you feel better not only on the day of your visit but in the long run.

In an initial treatment session you and your therapist decide on the best approach for your specific circumstance and what you would like your session to look like in order to walk away feeling freer and more at ease in your body.

Feel free to call Petra if you would like to learn more.
